I started my research journey many years ago as an undergraduate in the National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduate (NSF REU) program. It is great to get involved in research early and I highly encourage interested undergraduate students to join my research program. I currently have multiple openings for undergraduate research volunteers.
For applying to do research with me, I require students to first do the following training to help build their machine learning research skills:
1. Excel academically (be working towards a degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering with a GPA≥3.5).
2. Go through my basic deep learning course (7 lectures) and complete ALL the coding assignments in Python here.
3. Create the software setup and recreate the coding examples for the first 4 videos in the PyTorch tutorial video list by Aladdin Persson.
4. After completing steps 1 through 3, contact me via email to get involved!
